It is very sad that seventy years ago speech was a current issue. We could think that some social movement speaker is talking in some assembly. I liked two sentences; “Our knowledge has made us cynical and or cleverness hard and unkind” and the other one is; “We think too much and feel too little”. These sentences explain in a few words what is happening, at least in Spain. A great deal of people are suffering and it is true that there are many people in the demonstration, even so I think more people should be there and fight of our rights. The more people complain the better result we will have. At least, I hope.
It seems to me that this speech is simply amazing, even nowadays. During the World War II the Nazis committed the most terrible crimes against the humankind, and this film was made in 1940. Hence, I admire to Charlie Chaplin, especially when he pronounces the following words:
“The people have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create happiness. You the people have the power to make life free and beautiful ...”
